For decades, PCS has developed reliable power converters and electrical equipment for use in rail vehicles. Competences in the areas converter construction, control technology, interface design, and simulation, as well as project management are now deployed for use in the wind power industry.

Your principal duties will be the design, dimensioning and testing of converters and components for drive and energy supply systems. This includes:

• Mechanical and electrical dimensioning of the design elements
• Detailed knowledge in the areas of metalworking, machining and non-machining processes, welding and joining techniques
• Knowledge of the requirements of the rail sector (insulation coordination, durability, fire regulations, material selection, climate and environmental influences)
• Safeguarding construction by building prototypes and tests, support of all further verifications and validations
• Experience in design and realisation of air and water cooling systems is desirable
• Production of parts lists and drawings
• Production of documentation relating to the appliances

• University graduate in mechanical engineering/electrical engineering, focusing on construction
• Several years of professional experience in constructional mechanical engineering in the field of electrical technology and power electronics
• Solid knowledge of English in writing and speaking
• Experience in handling 3D CAD programs (Autodesk Inventor etc.)
• Independent, goal-oriented and analytical work method, flexibility, great amount of commitment, skills in conflict management and capacity for teamwork, creativity and readiness to make decisions
